It is normal for women to have both body and facial hair. In some cases, however, the hair growth is quite extensive and coarse. This is mostly caused by high secretion of androgens that should have otherwise been produced in controlled levels. This, in turn, leads to the development of male characteristics such as excessive growth of hair.

Luckily, there is a handful of natural methods you can use to get rid of the unwanted hair, and here we have tried to collect some of them for you. ❤

EGG WHITE MASK

An egg white mask can greatly lessen the excessive growth of facial hair. Its sticky property enables it to stick firmly on your facial hair and once it dries, you can easily peel off the excess facial hair. Also, eggs are rich in protein which plays a vital role in nourishing your skin during this process.

To try this method out, you will need:

  • One egg white
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • Half a tablespoon of cornflour

First off, you will mix all three ingredients in a bowl and then apply the mixture on your face. Let it sit for around thirty minutes before peeling it off quickly. Finally, rinse your face. Repeat these steps 2 to 3 times a week.

This method is not suitable for sensitive skin types and those that are prone to acne.

POTATO AND LENTIL

Not only do potatoes help in removing facial hair, but it also helps brighten your skin. The ingredients required for this method are:

  • A cup of yellow lentils soaked overnight
  • A potato
  • One tablespoon of lemon juice
  • One tablespoon of honey

Mash the peeled potato in a bowl to extract the juice and then later grind the lentils until it forms a smooth paste. Finally, add the potato juice, lemon juice, and honey into the lentil paste. Apply the mixture on the affected area and leave it for 20 minutes. Once it is dry, remove the paste with your fingers then rinse your face. Do this twice a week.

In case you got dry skin, always use a moisturizer once you applied the mask.

PAPAYA AND TURMERIC

Papaya contains enzyme called papain that enlarges hair follicles, which will consequently inhibit hair growth. It also removes the dead cells on your skin. For this method you will need the following:

  • A raw papaya
  • Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder

Firstly, cut the peeled papaya into small pieces then mash to form a paste. Add the turmeric powder to the paste. Apply the mixture on the affected areas as you massage your skin using your fingers. Let it sit for 20 minutes before washing off the paste with warm water. Repeat this twice a week.

This method is fit for all skin types

SUGAR AND LEMON FACE MASK

Once sugar is warmed, it sticks to hair and as soon as it dries, you can just peel the whole mask off. This will cause zero damage to your skin. Lemon in this mask is equally important. It lightens your skin tone as well as bleaches the remaining facial hair.

Below are the items you’ll need when trying out this method:

  • Two tablespoons of sugar
  • Two teaspoons of fresh lime juice
  • About 10 teaspoons of water

Mix all three ingredients, heat the mixture then set aside to cool. Once the paste cools, apply it on the affected area and let it sit for 20 minutes. Peel the mask off and rinse your face. Repeat this 4 times a week for great results.

It fits for all skin types but do not leave the paste on your skin for more than 20 minutes.

LEMON AND HONEY

This method is effective for both dry skin and removal of excess facial hair. The necessary ingredients are:

  • One tablespoon of organic honey
  • 2 teaspoons of fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • A waxing strip or piece of clothing

Mix the honey, sugar and lemon juice then heat until it becomes a waxy paste. You can also choose to make the paste thinner by adding water. Once the paste has cooled, apply it on the affected areas in the direction of the hair growth. With your wax strip, pull the hair in the opposite direction. The natural wax used above is much healthier compared to the chemical based ones.

It is suitable for those with dry skin. Be cautious not to overheat the paste. Individuals with sensitive skin should better try out a different method.

OATMEAL AND BANANA

Oatmeal contains antioxidants which are responsible for a smoother hydrated skin as well as removal of unwanted hair. It also helps your skin retain moisture. For this mask you’ll need:

  • A ripe mashed banana
  • 2 tablespoons of oatmeal

Blend both the oatmeal and mashed banana. Apply on the affected areas as you rub it in a circular motion against the direction of hair growth. Let it sit for 20 minutes, then wash it off using cold water. Do this once or twice a week.

The method is fit for all skin types.

LAVENDER OIL AND TEA TREE OIL

These two oils contain anti-androgen properties which will inhibit excessive growth of hair. You will require the following:

  • 1 teaspoon of lavender oil
  • 5 drops of tea tree oil

The steps for this method are rather simple. Mix the two oils and apply on affected areas using a cotton ball. Repeat this 3 times a day.

This method is safe for all skin types including acne-prone skin type.

  • 2 onions
  • Basil leaves

Firstly, cut the onions to extract the thin membranes. Secondly, crush the basil leaves and mix it with the thin membranes. Grind the mixture to form a paste. Apply the mixture on your face and let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing. Do this at least 4 times a week.

  • 1 tablespoon of unflavored gelatin powder
  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • A few drops of lemon juice

Mix the gelatin and milk then add lemon juice. Put the mixture in a microwave for not more than 20 seconds. After the mixture has cooled, apply the mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes before peeling it off (using your fingers). You can repeat this as many times you like.
