Best bars with live music in New York City
This weekend, I was looking for the best bar or restaurant with live music, great food and drinks in the city. I asked my friends, who live in Manhattan for a recommendation. Finally, I ended up in Greenwich Village, at an amazing spot, which called “Café Wha”. I guarantee you will love this place!
If you like music as much as I do, Café Wha will satisfy your every need for sound, hitting on all styles of music: Motown, Reggae, R&B, as well as Classic/ Alternative/ Modern rock.
Many New Yorkers describe the band that performs in Café Wha as “the Best Damn Band in the City”. Café Wha also hosts many celebrity guest performers.
Why Café Wha?
Founded in 1959, Café Wha has a true New York City spirit. Famous Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, Lenny Bruce, Woody Allen and others started their careers in Café Wha.
As The New York Times says: “Power house talent – you’d be hard-pressed to find a more exhilarating evening out.”
Café Wha is a great place to visit, whether you are living or just visiting Manhattan.
I am originally not from this city, and Café Wha is exactly how I would picture myself a fun live music spot in Manhattan. Every night in the Café Wha is a cool party! They do not announce in advance which famous musician will show up. It is always a pleasant surprise.
Personally, I prefer the weekend shows, because they usually start with a comedian on the stage, who makes everyone laugh like crazy. It definitely warms up the atmosphere before the main show.
In addition, Café Wha also offers you premium drinks and food packages.
